10 tips to help care for your mental health!

Taking care of your mental health is very important and helps enhance your mental state.

Here are some guides to help you!

1. Develop up self-confident
Studies show that people with high self-esteem have more confidence in themselves and their capabilities. According to mental experts.

2. Eat healthy
Eat your five a day – Fruits and vegetables are good sources of minerals, vitamins, and fibre, to help you maintain your health physically and mentally. Your brain needs fatty oils especially omega-3s and 6s to keep it working well.

3. Excercise regularly
Regular exercise is a positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts overall mood.

4. Learn how to manage stress
It may not be possible to remove the stress from your life; however, managing your stress may help you to get things done. Look at areas in your life where you could manage your situation better or change the way you respond.

5. Get enough sleep
we cannot function effectively without sleep according to a mental health foundation. The occasional night without sleep causes no lasting damage. However, ongoing insomnia or sleep disturbance can lead to tiredness, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. A good sleep helps to repair and restore our brains and bodies and is vital for maintaining good mental health.

6. Find your work balance
According to research, it shows that the more control we have over our work, the less stressed we get. So be realistic about workloads and deadlines. Make a “to do” list, and take care of important tasks first and eliminate unessential ones. Ask for help when necessary.

7. Build a relationship
You are not alone, make friends in college, and at work. If you like to be in a club such as sport, yoga, dancing, and more in your college feel free to do so. Social interaction can also help ward off stress and depression.

8. Exhale and Enjoy life
it’s about enjoying life, being positive and having the courage to be yourself! It’s about embracing life, living the present moment and making the best of every day.

9. Have fun
Take a time off, enjoy your day out with your family or friends, visit the cinema, do some fun activities, go for a trip. Having fun can trigger the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain. Improve brain function.

10. Get help if you need
If you are concerned that you are developing a mental health problem you should seek the advice and support of your GP as a matter of priority. If you are in distress and need immediate help and are unable to see a GP, you should visit your local A&E.
